About Agents in Recovery

Jason Coombs

Jason Coombs is the founder of Brick House Recovery, an addiction treatment program in Idaho. He's the author of the national bestseller Unhooked: How to Help an Addicted Loved One Recover. He's a person in long-term recovery.

He writes this site as an operator, for operators.

What this site is

A directory of AI agent use cases in behavioral health, plus long-form guides. It covers addiction treatment centers, mental health practices, recovery coaching, peer support, sober living, and family support. Every entry says how mature the use case is and where the privacy line sits.

How we write

  • No invented vendors, statistics, quotes, or outcomes. If we cite something, we link the source. If we couldn't verify it, we left it out.
  • Person-first language. People with a substance use disorder. People in recovery.
  • Every use case addresses PHI honestly: what's safe with de-identified data, what needs a Business Associate Agreement, and what shouldn't be automated.
  • Nothing here is legal advice. We tell you when to call counsel.

How it's paid for

Flat-fee sponsorships from vendors. Never pay-per-lead or pay-per-admit. Read the sponsor policy.

If you need help now

Call or text 988 for the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline. For treatment referrals, SAMHSA's National Helpline is 1-800-662-4357.
