Preparing to ask about alcohol use, with an evidence-bound assistant

A clinician asks an AI assistant that answers only from WHO evidence how to raise alcohol use with a client, then has the conversation themselves.

What it does

WHO/Europe launched the hub on October 14, 2026. It puts the AUDIT 10-question screening test, standard drink tools, and WHO guidance in one place. Its AI assistant answers only from a defined set of WHO evidence and resources, so a clinician with a few minutes can ask how to bring up drinking without sounding judgmental and get a sourced answer.

Where the privacy line sits

No client information is needed. Ask general questions, such as how to open the topic or what counts as a standard drink, and never type a client's name or details into a public tool. WHO built the hub for health workers in its European Region, so check its guidance against your own state rules, payer requirements, and program protocols before you rely on it.

  • No PHI needed. Can be done with no patient, client, or resident information.

What stays human

The conversation itself, scoring and interpreting any screening result, diagnosis, and any decision about referral or level of care.
